Customers now book directly from a live availability calendar that holds a slot the moment it's picked, with staff schedules staying in sync and confirmations sending themselves. Two people can reach for the same slot at once, so availability writes go through a transactional lock in Postgres — the first request wins, the second gets an honest "already taken."
